i've been getting more into the groove of things with my art lately. slowly i'm getting better at dealing with stressful situations, so i've been able to spend more time doing creative things. gf and i have been working on a concept for what might be our first finished video game, won't know until it's done, i suppose. we've had a few ideas bouncing around, and this one seems the most doable from our current standpoint. i keep coming back to the 3d platformer ideas. i think it's really interesting how many different kinds of things you can do in terms of movement, goals, combat, and the world itself.
for my world (which i really need to figure out a suitable working title for) i've mainly been working on expanding the lives of the characters and the 'secondary' characters that surround them. i spent way too much time during my first spree focusing on the actual world and its history, most of which will likely never see the light of day, so i've made it a goal to only focus on character development for a while. something i really need to do is traumatize them more. i do want to capture the sweetness of that time, without all the awful, evil things going on, but still far enough from ideal to create an interesting backdrop. i also decided i'd try doing three-panel comics instead of the daunting idea of a graphic novel or long-term webcomic i had in mind before. i downloaded gimp since i was feeling the spirit of linux, and i like how much you can do with it, so it'll probably end up here or at least on tumblr or something.
i hope everypony has a good day!
