turns out i might not be so good at daily updates, lol. had a pretty rough one yesterday and have all around been feeling pretty crappy. i started learning how to play chess; i tried joining the chess club in high school but it was very much a boys' club and they did not want any boobs in there, lol. i gave up then (as i did often, i was a very weak-willed child) but my girlfriend is helping me figure stuff out. plus, i don't care about losing in games, so it's easy on me even if i lose every time. i haven't won a game yet, but each game i find out new techniques and stuff.
we've also been watching a lot of videos about coding and today we decided we're going to switch to linux when that's feasible. i didn't realize how much ram is being wasted on windows. i unfortunately still have an iphone, and we're thinking about building our own phones on linux with raspberry pi. if linux can't run cookie run though ... lol
today we're about to play some schedule 1. my current highest value product is a green crystal i aptly named Kryptonite. i was a little obsessed with krypto the superdog as a kid but have never really engaged with anything else related to superman. except that one song. i really like that song.
yesterday i told my gf i've almost completed the homestuck priming ritual. she was already into computers but we learned about how code actually works and suddenly i was just like ohh, so that homestuck stuff that doesn't make any sense actually makes a lot of sense, and the only reason homestuck feels so esoteric and incomprehensible (other than the fact i first read it at age 14) is because i didn't know anything about computers or a lot of the referential stuff. i'm working on expanding my brain in those departments, especially because i'm building a world in which the characters were born in the 80s, and i have no firsthand experience of anything before i was 8 or 9 and really started paying attention to the world around me. i at least decided to set the characters in a fictional version of the region i grew up in, so that won't be too difficult.
if anypony knows, by some stroke of bizarre luck, a color-matching nail polish to avon's speeddry+ vamp it up, PLEASE share it on my neocities profile. the formula sucks so much and it chips and wears super fast (and i can draw with my nail like a crayon???) but the color is divine.
